Custom 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew Dually With V-Plow

This customized 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew combines six-passenger utility with the traction and stability of dual rear wheels. Built by Lakeside Motor Sports in Mecosta, Michigan, the one-of-a-kind machine was outfitted for demanding winter work with a full cab enclosure and a Pure Polaris BOSS V-Plow.

Polaris Ranger Crew Utility Platform

The 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew was designed to carry as many as six occupants while retaining the cargo and towing capabilities expected from a utility side-by-side. Its 683cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke twin-cylinder engine produced a claimed 40 horsepower and was paired with a continuously variable transmission.

Selectable two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive allowed the Ranger Crew to adapt to changing surface conditions. MacPherson struts provided 8 inches of front suspension travel, while the independent rear suspension offered 9 inches of travel. The machine also provided 11 inches of ground clearance.

With a claimed 1,750-pound payload capacity, a 1,000-pound-capacity tilting cargo box and a 2,000-pound towing rating, the Ranger Crew offered a capable foundation for this specialized work build.

Custom Dually Conversion

The most distinctive part of the build is its dual-rear-wheel conversion. RangerWare dual-wheel adapters allowed Lakeside Motor Sports to install four rear wheels, giving the Ranger Crew a wider stance and additional tire contact area. Eagle Alloy wheels with a GM eight-lug bolt pattern completed the conversion.

RangerWare fender flares help cover the wider rear wheel arrangement, while the full RangerWare cab enclosure provides protection from snow, wind and cold weather. Together, these modifications turned the six-seat Ranger Crew into an attention-grabbing winter utility vehicle.

Pure Polaris BOSS V-Plow

Lakeside Motor Sports adapted a Pure Polaris BOSS V-Plow system to fit the Ranger Crew. A V-plow offers several useful blade configurations, allowing the operator to break through accumulated snow, direct it to either side or carry it forward.

Combined with the enclosed cab, selectable four-wheel drive and dual rear tires, the plow makes this custom Ranger Crew particularly well suited to clearing driveways, parking areas and access roads.
