Arctic Cat has played an important role in side-by-side history. Earlier Prowlers helped establish the recreational utility category, while machines such as the Prowler XTZ 1000 pushed UTV power and performance forward. The later Wildcat family moved Arctic Cat into the high-performance sport UTV market.
Following a period of uncertainty under Textron ownership, Arctic Cat entered a new chapter in 2025 under an investment group led by former Arctic Cat executive Brad Darling. The expanded 2027 Prowler range is an important step in rebuilding the company’s off-road vehicle business, although Arctic Cat does not currently offer a new Wildcat sport UTV.
