High Lifter Polaris Ranger Super Crew: 57-Inch Tire Mud Build

High Lifter’s Polaris Ranger Super Crew

High Lifter built this extraordinary 2010 Polaris Ranger Crew to tackle the deepest water and thickest mud it could find. Known as the Super Crew, the towering custom build rides on 57-inch tires and stands approximately 61 inches off the ground.

Its size is impressive, but the powertrain may be the most surprising part of the build. High Lifter retained the stock Polaris RANGER 800 engine, standard CVT and drive belt. A Profab 5-to-1 transfer case provides the gear reduction needed to turn the massive tires.

We watched the Super Crew work during the 2011 Mud Nationals. It powered through deep water and sticky mud without missing a beat, even while pulling disabled machines out of the muck.

Built for Extreme Mud

The Super Crew is far removed from a conventional Ranger Crew, but High Lifter retained several important factory components. Keeping the original engine, radiator and belt-driven transmission makes its performance with 57-inch tires even more remarkable.

The Rockwell axles, deep gear reduction and four-wheel-steering system help the enormous machine maneuver through mud pits where a conventional UTV would quickly become stuck. When another vehicle needs assistance, the 8,000-pound Warn winch gives the Super Crew serious recovery capability.
