The 2012 High Lifter ATV Mud Nationals brought nearly 13,000 off-road enthusiasts and approximately 100 ATV and UTV industry vendors to Mud Creek Off-Road Park in Jacksonville, Texas. The five-day event combined trail riding, mud racing, endurance competitions, custom vehicle displays and live entertainment.
This was the 10th anniversary of the signature High Lifter event, which had grown from a relatively small mud ride into one of the largest gatherings for mud-riding enthusiasts in the country.
Five Days of Mud Racing and Trail Riding
Attendees could enter 18 competitive events and races offering cash payouts or prizes. The schedule included UTV mud racing, the EPI Endurance Challenge, the Planet ATV Mud Jam Stereo Contest and the DynoJet Bad 2 ’da Bone Show ’N Shine Contest.
Live entertainment was also part of the event. The eXtreme Outlaw Concert Series at the Yamaha Oasis featured David Nail, JB and the Moonshine Band, Jason Cassidy, The Bigsbys, Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws, and Big Smo.
High Lifter Products president Scott Smith described the event’s 10th anniversary as a major success, noting how the original mud bog had developed into a destination attracting riders from around the world.
Polaris Mudda Cross
The Polaris Mudda Cross was restricted to recreational utility vehicles. Competitors raced around a 150-foot oval filled with mud and water, putting vehicle durability, traction and driver skill to the test.

EPI Endurance Challenge
The EPI Endurance Challenge paired two-person teams for a timed trip through one of the deepest and longest mud holes in the park. Each team had to travel to the marked turnaround point and return to the starting line. Both teammates and their ATV or UTV had to cross the finish line for the run to count.
Can-Am/BRP Mud Bog RUV Results
The Can-Am/BRP Mud Bog RUV competition sent side-by-sides through a 150-foot course filled with mud and water.

Planet ATV Mud Jam Stereo Contest
The Planet ATV Mud Jam Stereo Contest recognized two UTVs: one for the highest measured sound level and another selected by public ballot as the most outrageous installation.

DynoJet Bad 2 ’da Bone Show ’N Shine
The Show ’N Shine gave ATV and UTV owners a place to display extensively customized machines. Winners were selected by public ballot.
Vendor Area and UTV Displays
The vendor area included displays and custom machines from many of the leading mud-riding and UTV accessory companies of the era. Exhibitors represented suspension, axle, exhaust, recovery, audio and vehicle manufacturers.
