Irvine, CA – Russ Brenan, a 13-year veteran of the marketing team at Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A., has been named senior advisor, government relations and public affairs for the powersports products company. Brenan takes over a department that had been led for more than 30 years by Roger Hagie, who retired.
Most recently serving as Kawasaki’s advertising supervisor, Brenan had also spent several years in the company’s public relations department, as public relations supervisor, trade/enthusiast media supervisor, and senior coordinator, advertising and public relations. Prior to joining Kawasaki, he was a key account manager and contemporary marketing team supervisor with Anheuser-Busch Inc.
Brenan becomes the company’s primary conduit between Kawasaki’s product development efforts and the regulatory community. He will oversee all components of the company’s outreach in this area and will also represent the product marketer on numerous industry association boards and committees.
He will be active in all product categories, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, utility vehicles, and personal watercraft.
“His intimate knowledge of both the technical and usage aspects of all Kawasaki products will be a significant benefit to the company as he works to assure compliance with all applicable regulations,” said Shinichiro Yokoyama, General Manager, Product Advancement and Racing.
Brenan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Arizona State University, as well as a certificate in leadership development from Chapman University.
