SSV Works introduced its KX-F65 series of sealed 6.5-inch kick-panel speaker pods for the 2020 and newer Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000. The vehicle-specific enclosures gave KRX owners an alternative to mounting speakers in the factory doors and were offered either loaded with SSV Works A6 speakers or unloaded for a custom audio installation.
The pods were designed using 3D modeling to fit the KRX 1000 kick-panel area without requiring a generic enclosure. SSV Works announced the system in May 2021 with a listed MSRP of $329.99 for the loaded KX-F65A package. Because pricing and availability may have changed since the original announcement, owners should confirm current details before ordering.

Sealed Speaker Enclosures for the KRX 1000
The factory KRX door-speaker locations use open-backed mounting areas. SSV Works developed the KX-F65 pods as fully sealed enclosures intended to protect the speakers from trail conditions while providing a more controlled acoustic environment.
According to SSV Works CEO Trevor Kaplan, the sealed design offered better protection and sound quality than placing speakers in open-backed factory door locations. The enclosures were manufactured from UV-stable material and designed for year-round powersports use.
The installation location also keeps the speakers low and forward in the cockpit. That places the sound closer to the driver and passenger while leaving the doors available for storage or other accessories.
SSV Works KX-F65A Speaker Specifications
The loaded KX-F65A package included the vehicle-specific enclosures, installation hardware and a pair of SSV Works A6 powersports speakers. Original specifications included:
- 6.5-inch SSV Works A6 speakers
- 60-watt RMS power handling
- 120-watt peak power handling
- Four-ohm impedance
- 25mm titanium hard-dome tweeters
- Santoprene speaker surrounds
- UV-stable ASA plastic grilles
- Two-pin Posi-Lock connectors
- Sealed, weather-resistant enclosures
- Vehicle-specific mounting hardware
Unloaded KX-F65 Speaker-Pod Option
SSV Works also offered the KX-F65 pods without speakers. The unloaded version allowed owners or audio installers to use compatible 6.5-inch speakers from another manufacturer while retaining the vehicle-specific sealed enclosures.
Before combining the unloaded pods with aftermarket speakers, verify the speaker’s mounting depth, bolt pattern, grille clearance and impedance. A speaker may have a nominal 6.5-inch diameter without fitting every 6.5-inch enclosure.
Building a Kawasaki KRX 1000 Audio System
Kick-panel speakers can serve as the front stage in a complete KRX audio system or as an upgrade to an existing installation. Depending on the selected speakers and desired volume, the system may also require an amplifier, source unit, wiring kit and additional charging-system capacity.
The original naturally aspirated KRX provides a spacious cockpit and substantial chassis that make it a popular platform for trail accessories. SSV Works KRX Speaker-Pod Summary
The KX-F65 series gave Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 owners a clean way to add 6.5-inch speakers without relying on open-backed door locations or universal enclosures. Its sealed construction, vehicle-specific fit and choice between loaded and unloaded configurations made it adaptable to both straightforward installations and more customized KRX audio systems.
