The 2010 Polaris RZR 4 800, introduced as the industry’s first four-seat sport side-by-side, combined performance with passenger capacity. Powered by a 760cc High Output (H.O.) engine producing 55 horsepower, it featured a long-travel suspension with 12 inches of travel and a 103-inch wheelbase, ensuring stability and comfort across various terrains. The RZR 4 800 was available in the Robby Gordon Edition, showcasing design elements inspired by the renowned off-road racer.
Trips:
May 2010 – Yerington Desert Race – We used the Polaris RZR S and Polaris RZR 4 out in Nevada for the VORRA Yerington desert race. We pre-ran the 50 mile desert course twice in the RZR S and once in the RZR 4 without a single issue.
After getting knocked out of the race, we decided to run around the desert to watch the race. Put another 40 miles of very tough and fast riding on the RZR S and RZR 4.
Very impressed with the beating the Polaris RZR 4 takes. The rest of the race team were really impressed with how the RZR 4 handled rough terrain, and high speed dirt roads. With four seats and great handling, the RZR 4 makes a great pre-run vehicle.
April 2010 – Sand Mountain – I went on several rides with the RZR 4 where I was the only one in the vehicle and a few where we were fully loaded. I have got to say what impresses me most about the RZR 4 is the suspension. We just me driving, I expected the ride to be harsh due to the lower load, but the ride was great. It was smooth and handled drop offs and g-outs very well. Once I loaded it down, the RZR 4 settled down a few inches lower, but it was able to soak up some pretty aggressive driving. I could definitely feel the increased load when accelerating, braking or on hard corners, but overall I was very impressed with the ability of the suspension to handle the wide range of load thrown at it. And this is without even touching the adjustments on the Fox 2.0 shocks. I could have easily added more low speed compression in just a few seconds to prepare more for when I had four people, but I wanted to see what it would do.
April 2010 – Took the family out to play at Prairie City SVRA today. The RZR 4 does a great job hauling the family around in style and it was big fun to hear the kids in the vehicle with us.
February 2010 – Used the RZR 4 today to haul around a bale of hay in the process of moving cows from one pasture to another.
January 2010 – Out checking the pond on a rainy day
