DuneFest 2016: July 27 – 31st

DuneFest 2016 is presented by Can-Am and is held in the Winchester Bay Dunes. DuneFest is organized by the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Sand Camping/Staging facilities which are on National Forest Lands are authorized by a special use permit from the Siuslaw National Forest. The entire dunes at Winchester Bay are set aside for DuneFest from Wednesday to Sunday. To get into the dunes and the DuneFest event, you need a wrist band.

Location

Winchester Bay is the center of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and is therefore, the ATV/UTV and dune buggy capital of the Pacific coast.

Main Stage Area

The Dunes Visitor Center is located in Reedsport on Hwy 101, 855 Highway Avenue, and has information, interpretive exhibits and an introductory video. Rental Off-Highway Vehicles, (OHV), are available from private concessions along the coast. Information is available at the Visitor Center.

2016 DuneFest Activities:

Sand Drags – Sand drags for all ages and skills. Anything that can move under its own power can race! A class for everything no one will be left out on race day. Brand new night races on Wednesday July 27th. 8pm 11pm.
OEM Demo Track Area –Wed-Sat 9am-5pm south of the Main Stage Area Test ride the new 2017 models from Yamaha and Polaris.
Show & Shine – Sponsored by Can-Am, Safeworker, Knights Offroad and Sutton RV. Come and show the world your ride. $ 3.00 Entry fee per classes. 5 Classes. Participants can enter multiple classes. 4:00pm 5:30pm Show and Shine at Pepsi Main Stage.
Freestyle Shows –DuneFest 2016 will feature Fitz Army Riders, headlined by Jimmy Fitzpatrick. Brought to you by WGAS Motorsports. Come check it out at the Pepsi Main Stage.
Treasure Hunt – This year participants will receive a game card with sign-up. On your game card there will be instructions to your first destination. When you arrive, you will be given a puzzle piece collect all 5. Event to be held at Pepsi Main stage 11:00 am 11:30 am on Thursday July 28th.
Night Ride – Join us for our annual night ride! An all-age, family-friendly group ride through the Oregon Dunes at the PEPSI MAIN STAGE event to begin at 9:00 pm (Decibel check, and registration required).
Charity Auction – Thousands of dollars of items up for bid; including a 2016 Outlander 450L ATV donated by our Presenting Sponsor, Can-Am. Charity Auction will take place on Saturday July 30th from 6:30 pm 8:30 pm at the Pepsi Main Stage.
Concert –Come rock the dunes on Friday and Saturday night from 10:00 pm 11:30 pm. Friday night enjoy the Jimmy Bobby Band, new country music from 10 pm to 11:30 pm. On Saturday night rock with the Shelley James Band from 10 pm until 11:30 pm. Bring your own chair.
Poker Run – Decibel check required 93DBThe event is under Special Use Permit with the Siuslaw National Forest & Douglas County Parks. Winners: two highest poker hands & lowest poker hand. Show hand at the PEPSI MAIN STAGE by 1:30pm on Saturday, July 30th. Winners announced at 2:30pm at the Pepsi Main Stage. Sign up on Vendor Row at Registration Booth.
Drive-In Movie Night – Thursday at 9PM – “Star Wars The Force Awakens” at the Pepsi main stage.
