2017 Arctic Cat Wildcat X and 4X Debut With RG PRO Suspension

Wildcat X EPS with RG PRO Suspension

Arctic Cat’s second wave of 2017 off-road models, announced September 16, 2016, centered on three Wildcat side-by-sides developed with Robby Gordon: the two-seat Wildcat X EPS and Wildcat X Limited EPS, and the four-seat Wildcat 4X EPS. The company also introduced the redesigned Alterra 300 ATV.

2017 Wildcat X and Wildcat 4X: RG PRO Suspension

The three Wildcat models debuted Arctic Cat’s RG PRO rear suspension, developed in partnership with off-road racer Robby Gordon. Arctic Cat also announced a revised, race-inspired rollover protection structure, KING aluminum gas shocks, custom cast-aluminum KMC wheels, and chassis updates for the X models. The new rear suspension was the headline change in this release, giving the two- and four-seat Wildcats a distinct place in Arctic Cat’s 2017 performance lineup.

Alterra 300 Joins the Second Wave

The fourth machine in the announcement was the redesigned Alterra 300 ATV. Arctic Cat positioned it as an entry-priced model with full-size styling. Although it was part of the same launch, the Alterra 300 is an ATV rather than a side-by-side.

A Staged 2017 Rollout

This announcement followed Arctic Cat’s first round of 2017 ATV and side-by-side introductions, which included the Prowler HDX Crew 700 XT and Prowler 500. At the time, Arctic Cat said additional 2017 introductions were still planned. The Wildcat X and 4X RG PRO models were the performance focus of this September 2016 wave.
