Class 10 desert race cars and UTVs compete at the same time during Best in the Desert and SCORE race series, but they have never competed directly against each other until now!
Ultra 4 Racing is expanding their desert challenge racing to two days with a Saturday Afternoon B2 (Class 10 Cars) and B3 (UTV) race head to head with an $85K payout!
Class Purse Structure:
- $10,000 for 1st
- $5,000 for 2nd
- $2,500 for 3rd
Plus $50,000 to the overall winner between those 2 classes (Class 10 vs. UTV).
Single-seat Class 10 are limited to 2200cc and two-seat vehicles must not displace more than 2500cc. The class most commonly use a 2.4 or 2.5 liter Ecotec engine from GM. Contrast that to UTVs that are limited to 1000cc. Class 10 vehicles are most commonly 2-wheel-drive while UTVs are 4-wheel-drive.

In the Best in the Desert series, it is rare that a UTV would beat the fastest class 10. But Johnson Valley’s terrain may help even the playing field and give lighter and more nimble UTVs a chance to beat the more powerful Class 10s.
