Assault Industries introduced its Sidewinder convex side mirrors in 2017, and the round billet-aluminum design remains in its current lineup. The convex glass provides a wider view of the trail and traffic behind a UTV than a flat mirror of similar size, while the breakaway mounts let the mirrors fold when they encounter brush or other obstacles.
Sidewinder mirror construction and serviceability
The round housings are machined primarily from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and use replaceable components. Their raw front and rear bezels give owners a starting point for a custom finish. Assault says the mirrors are adjustable and rebuildable with basic tools, and lists a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on the mirror bodies. The stud thread size is M10 × 1.25.
Choosing the correct mount
Assault offers the Sidewinder as a pair with clamps and mounting hardware. Its installation instructions list clamp variants for 1.5-, 1.75-, 1.875- and 2-inch tubes, plus a Pro-Fit option. Select the mount for your vehicle’s actual cage profile and diameter before ordering; the universal mirror listing does not mean that one clamp fits every UTV. Check clearance with doors, windshields and other accessories before final tightening.
Replacement glass and other mirror options
Assault also sells Sidewinder replacement convex glass separately, which may save replacing the complete pair after glass damage. The replacement listing includes a specific installation note for early mirror housings with foam beneath the original glass; follow that note when fitting new glass.
