Assault Industries Phantom convex side mirrors combine a slim, angular housing with a wider rearward view than a flat mirror. Originally introduced in 2019, the Phantom remains in Assault Industries’ mirror lineup. Its rebuildable construction and choice of mounting hardware make it an option for a range of UTVs, including the Can-Am Maverick X3.
Phantom Mirror Design and Features
The Phantom’s low-profile shape draws on Assault Industries’ B2 Bomber mirror design, while its convex glass provides a broader field of view. The housings use 6061-T6 aluminum with black anodizing, angular detailing and contrasting aluminum bezels. Stainless steel is also used in the mirror assembly.
The mirrors are adjustable and use Assault Industries’ breakaway mounting design. They can be rebuilt if a component is damaged. Assault sells the Phantom mirrors as a pair with mounting clamps; buyers should select the clamp option that matches their vehicle’s cage. The mirror studs use M10 × 1.25 threads.
Clamp-Free Mounting on the Can-Am Maverick X3
Can-Am Maverick X3 owners have another mounting choice: Assault Industries M10 A-pillar brackets. Instead of attaching a mirror clamp to the roll cage, these brackets use the factory mirror mounting holes in the X3’s A-pillar gusset plates. Assault says they work with its side mirrors, including the Phantom.
This mounting position keeps the cage tube clear of mirror clamps, which can help when fitting a windshield. The brackets are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, finished in black anodizing and supplied as a pair with installation hardware. Check the bracket fitment and the mirror configuration for your particular X3 before ordering.
The M10 brackets mount Assault Industries mirrors at the Maverick X3’s factory A-pillar mirror locations.
