Suspension Direct E-LINK: Dynamic Sway Control for Winning Handling

SDi E-LINK Sway Bar Links

Electronics are increasingly redefining vehicle dynamics, and Suspension Direct’s E-LINK represents one of the most practical applications of that shift for off-road enthusiasts and racers alike. Rather than rigid or manually disconnecting sway bar links, E-LINK introduces electronic control into the link assembly itself —giving riders the ability to lock and unlock the sway bar with a flick of a switch.

At its heart, the E-LINK system replaces traditional fixed sway bar links with electronically actuated links that can engage or disengage your anti-roll bar on command. Whether you’re building a dedicated race rig or refining a trail machine, this means switchable sway bar behavior without ever leaving the cockpit. For pure suspension freedom and handling versatility, E-LINK bridges the gap between on-road stability and off-road compliance.

How the E-LINK System Works

E-LINK swaps your standard sway bar links for electrically activated units that respond to a control signal. Most kits include a simple two-position switch mounted in the cab, letting you shift between engaged and disengaged modes. When engaged, the sway bar link functions like a traditional solid link, minimizing body roll. When disengaged, it allows each wheel to articulate independently — ideal for technical terrain and rock crawling.

Unlike quick-disconnect aftermarket links that require stopping, E-LINK provides on-the-fly adjustability. That means more time riding and less time wrestling hardware, and it opens the door to smarter control when paired with adaptive suspension systems.

Why E-LINK Matters for Off-Road Performance

UTVs and other off-road vehicles often face mixed terrain within a single ride: fast dunes, tight rock gardens, rutted washes, and hardpack trails. Fixed sway bar links offer a compromise that rarely nails every use case. E-LINK gives you:

  • Improved high-speed stability with the sway bar engaged
  • Maximum wheel travel when disengaged for tricky obstacles
  • Seamless control changes without stopping

This adaptability yields a smoother ride, better traction in technical sections, and more confidence at speed — a compelling advantage for trail riders and racers alike.

E-LINK and E-CLIK

One of the strengths of the E-LINK system is how cleanly it pairs with smart suspension platforms. When integrated with adaptive shock control found in SDi’s E-CLIK, E-LINK becomes part of a holistic ride-control strategy, adjusting the sway bar condition in harmony with vehicle inputs and terrain sensors – automatically!

This integrated performance isn’t just helpful — it represents a leap over traditional mechanically linked systems. Riders benefit from instant responsiveness and tailored behavior that would be virtually impossible with conventional hardware.

Factory E-LINK-Style Control on the 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Edition

Polaris has taken the E-LINK concept a step further by embedding electronically controlled sway bar links as part of the new DYNAMIX DVS suspension system on the 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Edition.

Unlike standalone aftermarket kits you install yourself, Polaris’ system is factory-integrated hydraulic locking links developed in partnership with Suspension Direct, Inc. The electronic links on the Ultra Edition can switch rapidly — up to 200 times per second — giving the vehicle dynamic control over anti-roll behavior as terrain changes.

This setup works in three modes: Semi-Active (rapid lock/unlock), Locked for maximum stability on fast sections, and Unlocked to allow full articulation during technical climbs.

By tying this active sway link control into the broader DYNAMIX DVS system, Polaris delivers a suspension that adjusts sway condition automatically alongside damping and ride modes. The result is smoother handling, sharper control at speed, and enhanced comfort across demanding terrain — all without the rider needing to fiddle with switches mid-trail.
