Shock Therapy introduced its FOX QSE (Quick Switch Electronic) suspension system in June 2025 as the successor to FOX iQS. The system lets a driver change shock compression damping from the cab, with a separate front and rear adjustment and a customizable setting. It is an option for riders who want to switch between a more compliant feel on rough trails and greater support for faster or more aggressive driving.
How FOX QSE Suspension Works
QSE uses electronically controlled shock adjusters to change compression damping. The FOX Touch Point controls provide quick access to Soft, Firm and Custom settings, while front and rear zones can be adjusted independently. A driver might soften the front for a rough section, add support to the rear when carrying gear, or choose a preferred overall balance for the terrain.
The FOX app connects via Bluetooth to set the Custom position on a 0–100 scale. Once it is saved, the driver can return to that setting from the in-cab controls without stopping to turn individual shock adjusters.
QSE is driver adjustable rather than automatically responsive. It holds the selected damping setting until the driver makes another selection. That distinction matters when comparing it with semi-active systems that continuously change damping based on vehicle inputs.
What Changed from FOX iQS?
Shock Therapy described QSE as the replacement for its iQS offering at launch. The key additions are independent front and rear control, a configurable Custom setting through the app and a wider claimed adjustment range. Shock Therapy also said the updated system simplifies the electronics compared with iQS. The practical appeal is quick adjustment when a route changes from slow rocks to washboard or faster open terrain.
Fitment and Suspension Setup
At launch, Shock Therapy positioned QSE as a retrofit option for certain UTVs with FOX 2.5-inch or larger shocks, including stock and modified setups. The shock size alone does not establish compatibility: reservoirs, adjusters, wiring and vehicle-specific packaging must be checked before ordering. Electronic adjustment does not replace a sound mechanical setup. Spring rates, ride height, crossover settings and internal shock valving still determine much of how a UTV rides.
