If you’re into UTV adventures, the trail to Toquerville Falls near St. George, Utah is a must-do. It blends rugged off-roading with a stunning destination: the scenic waterfall on La Verkin Creek. The combination of desert terrain, rock obstacles, creek crossings and a refreshing swimming hole makes it perfect for an afternoon excursion or full day outing.
There are two routes to get to Torquerville Falls – one is suitable (except after a good rain) for SUVs and the other up Rattlesnake Gulch requires some rock crawling and several creek crossings.
Most UTV owners prefer the challenge and opt for the trail up Rattlesnake Gulch and La Verkin Creek. This is challenging 6.4-mile trail that goes through the canyon, along Laverkin Creek, to the Toquerville Falls Trail. You cross the creek a minimum of 20 times, and there are places where you drive up through the creek. After a heavy rain, or in the springtime, these water crossings will be deep, fast and not recommended. The trail up Rattlesnake Gulch starts just off of Highway 9 (as you head to Zion National Park) at the La Verkin Shooting Range – GPS Coordinates: 37.22622, -113.25253.
Torquerville Falls GPS Coordinates: 37.29865, -113.24691
We took the easier of the two routes in our Polaris RANGER Kinetic in the spring of 2025 as we didn’t think water crossings were the best idea in an electric vehicle:
The overlook at the radio towers is a neat spot with a great view. Overlook GPS Coordinates: 37.28971, -113.27670
