The 2025 Polaris XPEDITION ADV NorthStar is built for those who want the perfect blend of off-road capability, comfort, and long-distance adventure readiness. Designed to bridge the gap between a traditional UTV and an SUV, this 2-seat model offers a fully enclosed, climate-controlled cab, a proven engine, and industry-leading cargo versatility. Whether you’re tackling rugged trails or heading deep into remote terrain, the XPEDITION ADV NorthStar is built to handle it all.
The 2 seat XPEDITION is similar to a GENERAL for off-road performance, but with an enclosed cab and HVAC.
Power & Performance
At the heart of the XPEDITION ADV NorthStar is Polaris’ proven 999cc ProStar engine, delivering 114 horsepower—enough to power through tough trails, steep inclines, and heavy loads.

Final Verdict: Is the XPEDITION ADV NorthStar Worth It?
The 2025 Polaris XPEDITION ADV NorthStar is a premium adventure-focused UTV that delivers in comfort, performance, and off-road capability. If you’re looking for a weather-sealed (for the most part) UTV with solid off-road capabilities, this is the only option on the market.
If I would have designed the 2-seat Polaris XPEDITION ADV, I would have done a few things differently. I think the ADV 5 is a bit too long, and I don’t want to haul 4-5 people, but I do want more room!
1. Add 10-inches of wheelbase for increased off-road stability and performance. The additional 10-inches of bed space would be welcomed by anyone that wants to haul more camping gear for longer distance adventure rides.
2. Utilize the triple-cylinder, 1500cc engine found in the RANGER 1500 XD, but with a traditional CVT system similar to the Pro R (larger belt for more durability).
Pros:
- Enclosed, climate-controlled cab for all-weather riding
- Proven ProsStar 999cc engine with AWD for tackling any terrain
- Advanced tech package with Ride Command+
- FOX QS3 shock package is excellent
Cons:
- High price tag
- Engine/Transmission noise
- The enclosed cab still allows some dust to enter
- Wheelbase is on the shorter side giving you a tippy feeling at higher speeds
