2026 Polaris UTV Lineup: RANGER, RZR, GENERAL and XPEDITION

2026 POLARIS Model Lineup

The 2026 Polaris UTV lineup covers nearly every major side-by-side category, from the $9,999 RANGER 500 utility vehicle to the wide, high-performance RZR Pro R and enclosed Polaris XPEDITION adventure machines.

Polaris initially announced its 2026 off-road lineup in July 2025, with the new RANGER 500 and updates across the RANGER, RZR, GENERAL, Polaris XPEDITION, Sportsman and youth families. Additional introductions followed, including the redesigned RZR XP, new 72-inch RZR XP S, RANGER XD 1500 special editions and factory-enclosed RANGER CAB models.

Here is a closer look at the major models, specifications and changes in the expanded 2026 Polaris side-by-side lineup.

2026 Polaris UTV Lineup at a Glance

  • RANGER: Utility side-by-sides ranging from the value-priced RANGER 500 to the extreme-duty RANGER XD 1500.
  • RZR: Sport UTVs spanning 50-inch trail machines, the redesigned RZR XP and XP S, and the high-horsepower Pro lineup.
  • GENERAL: Two- and four-seat crossover UTVs designed to balance trail performance with hauling capability.
  • Polaris XPEDITION: Enclosed NorthStar adventure vehicles offered in open-bed XP and enclosed-cargo ADV configurations.

The RANGER 500 brings Polaris back into the sub-$10,000 utility UTV market.

2026 Polaris RANGER Lineup

The RANGER family remains the broadest part of the Polaris lineup. Buyers can choose everything from a compact utility vehicle for maintaining smaller properties to an enclosed, climate-controlled RANGER capable of towing 3,500 pounds.

All-New 2026 Polaris RANGER 500

The biggest announcement in Polaris’ initial model-year release was the 2026 Polaris RANGER 500. With a starting MSRP of $9,999, it provides a new entry point into the RANGER family without attempting to duplicate the size or capability of the larger RANGER 1000 and XP 1000.

The compact two-seat machine is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder engine producing a claimed 28 horsepower. Utility specifications include a 300-pound-capacity gas-assist dump box, 1,500-pound towing capacity, 9 inches of suspension travel and 11 inches of ground clearance.

It should appeal to property owners who want a simple side-by-side for hauling tools, towing a small trailer and completing everyday chores but do not need the capacity—or price—of a full-size RANGER.

RANGER SP 570, RANGER 1000 and RANGER XP 1000

Above the RANGER 500, Polaris continues to offer the compact RANGER SP 570 and full-size RANGER 1000. The RANGER XP 1000 remains one of the most versatile models in the range, combining an 82-horsepower engine with a 1,000-pound cargo-box capacity and 2,500-pound towing capacity.

For 2026, the XP 1000 family received 29-inch Pro Armor X-Terrain tires with a variable tread pattern intended to reduce perceived tire noise. That change is particularly relevant to the enclosed NorthStar models, where tire and drivetrain noise become more noticeable inside the cab.

2026 Polaris RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar Ultimate

2026 Polaris RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar Ultimate

RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar models add a factory-enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning. Depending on trim, buyers can also get a seven-inch RIDE COMMAND display, GPS navigation, JBL audio and a tip-out glass windshield.

The NorthStar Trail Boss adds equipment aimed at rougher terrain and heavy loads, including arched A-arms, 14 inches of ground clearance, self-leveling rear suspension and Active Descent Control.

New RANGER 1000 CAB and RANGER XP 1000 CAB

Polaris subsequently expanded its enclosed-cab selection with two lower-priced alternatives to the NorthStar models.

  • RANGER 1000 CAB: Combines the RANGER 1000 Premium equipment package with a factory-installed enclosed cab and heating system.
  • RANGER XP 1000 CAB: Adds a factory-installed enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning to the more powerful XP 1000 platform.

The RANGER 1000 CAB is intended primarily for cold-weather work, while the XP 1000 CAB provides year-round climate control. These models fill the sizable price gap between an open RANGER and the more heavily equipped NorthStar trims.

RANGER XD 1500 and Mountaineer Edition

The RANGER XD 1500 sits at the top of the utility lineup. Its three-cylinder 1,500cc engine produces 110 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque, while the chassis is rated to carry up to 1,500 pounds in the cargo box and tow as much as 3,500 pounds, depending on configuration.

Polaris’ STEELDRIVE transmission replaces a conventional rubber CVT belt with a steel belt, paired with a fully sealed, liquid-cooled system and electronically controlled clutch pack.

The 2026 RANGER XD 1500 NorthStar Mountaineer Edition uses a 3.73:1 final-drive ratio in place of the standard model’s 3.07:1 gearing. The lower gearing provides approximately 20 percent more torque at the wheels, along with improved throttle control for steep climbs and heavy loads at elevation. It also receives tinted windows and exclusive Mountaineer graphics.

During our RANGER XD 1500 Mountaineer testing, we drove from Walker, California, at approximately 5,500 feet to the 11,673-foot summit of Mount Patterson. The lower gearing was especially useful on steep, loose climbs, although it reduces top speed compared with the standard XD 1500.

The 2026 XD 1500 family also includes a Texas Edition with model-specific styling and equipment.

2026 Polaris RZR Lineup

The 2026 RZR family is divided into three general categories: narrow Trail models, naturally aspirated RZR XP machines and the higher-performance RZR Pro lineup.

Redesigned RZR XP and New 72-Inch RZR XP S

Introduced after the initial model-year announcement, the redesigned 2026 RZR XP uses a 114-horsepower ProStar 1000 Gen 2 engine, revised transmission calibration and Walker Evans needle shocks. The 64-inch-wide platform provides up to 20.5 inches of usable suspension travel, depending on trim.

The new 2026 Polaris RZR XP S builds on the same naturally aspirated platform but increases overall width to 72 inches. It also provides 25 inches of usable suspension travel, 16 inches of ground clearance and 32-inch tires.

This makes the XP S an important addition for riders who want the stability and suspension performance of a wide desert UTV without stepping up to a turbocharged Pro S or Pro R.

Both the RZR XP and XP S are offered in two- and four-seat configurations. Sport models emphasize performance and value, while Ultimate trims add RIDE COMMAND, Rockford Fosgate audio, a roof, winch and additional lighting.

We also tested the RZR XP S 4 Ultimate at Sand Hollow. Its 72-inch stance, improved low-range gearing and 117-inch wheelbase made it especially capable on steep climbs, ledges and off-camber rock obstacles.

2026 Polaris RZR Pro XP Sport

RZR Pro XP, Pro S and Pro R

The 64-inch RZR Pro XP remains the more compact turbocharged member of the Pro family, while the 72-inch Pro S is intended for faster, rougher terrain. Sport and Ultimate trims are available in two- and four-seat configurations.

Ultimate models use DYNAMIX 2.0 semi-active suspension, which adjusts compression damping in real time. They also receive RIDE COMMAND, GPS navigation, a rear camera and a Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 audio system.

For 2026, the RZR Pro R Ultimate received a vertically oriented 10.4-inch RIDE COMMAND touchscreen. Polaris says the display provides 52 square inches of usable screen area, giving riders more room for maps, vehicle information and connected features.

Polaris also introduced a limited-production Pro S Calavera Edition to commemorate the company’s 10th anniversary in Mexico.

RZR Trail and Trail S

The RZR Trail family continues to serve riders who need a narrower vehicle for width-restricted trails. The RZR Trail measures 50 inches wide, while the RZR Trail S uses a 60-inch stance for greater stability.

The 50-inch Trail Sport uses 26-inch tires and ZF Sachs twin-tube shocks. The Trail Ultimate adds FOX Podium X shocks, Rockford Fosgate audio and VersaTrac Turf Mode. The 60-inch Trail S Ultimate receives 27-inch tires, Walker Evans needle shocks, RIDE COMMAND and upgraded audio.

2026 Polaris GENERAL Lineup

2026 Polaris GENERAL 1000 Sport

2026 Polaris GENERAL 1000 Sport

The GENERAL continues to bridge the gap between the utility-focused RANGER and sport-oriented RZR. Its 999cc engine produces a claimed 100 horsepower, while the rear dump box can carry 600 pounds and the vehicle can tow up to 1,500 pounds.

The GENERAL 1000 Sport is the entry point into the range. The Premium trim adds FOX 2.0 Podium QS3 shocks, LED headlights, 14-inch wheels and 27-inch Maxxis Coronado tires.

The wider GENERAL XP returns in Sport, Premium and Ultimate trims with two- and four-seat configurations. Equipment varies by trim but can include Walker Evans Velocity Series shocks, a 4,500-pound winch, poly roof, Rockford Fosgate audio and a seven-inch RIDE COMMAND display.

Changes for 2026 are relatively modest, consisting primarily of revised colors and graphics rather than a new chassis, engine or suspension platform.

2026 Polaris XPEDITION Lineup

2026 Polaris XPEDITION NorthStar

The Polaris XPEDITION is positioned as an enclosed adventure side-by-side for riders who want more weather protection, cargo flexibility and passenger comfort than a conventional sport UTV provides.

All 2026 XPEDITION models use the NorthStar equipment package. Core specifications include a 114-horsepower ProStar 1000 Gen 2 engine, FOX Podium QS3 shocks, 14 inches of ground clearance and high-clearance dual A-arms.

Cab equipment includes heat and air conditioning, power windows, full doors, a tip-out glass windshield with wiper and washer, a seven-inch RIDE COMMAND display and JBL Trail Pro audio.

Two body configurations remain available:

  • XP: Uses an open, dumping rear cargo box. The five-seat version has a 60/40 split rear seat that flips up to create additional interior cargo space.
  • ADV: Replaces the open bed with enclosed pass-through cargo storage, a locking tailgate and a fold-flat rear-seat arrangement in the five-passenger model.

Our Polaris XPEDITION ADV vs. XP comparison explains how the open cargo bed, enclosed storage area, spare-tire placement and passenger compartment affect real-world use.

For 2026, Polaris added 30-inch Pro Armor Trekker tires, revised heater performance, updated interior accents and RIDE COMMAND+ with three years of connected-service access. Color choices include Matte Super Graphite, Performance Red and Slate Gray.

2026 Polaris Sportsman ATV Lineup

Although UTVs are the focus here, Polaris also marked 40 years of ATV production with a limited-release Sportsman 570 Premium 40th Anniversary Edition. Its paint, badging and graphics draw inspiration from Polaris ATVs of the 1990s.

The wider 2026 Sportsman range includes 450, 570, 850, XP 1000, Touring, X2, 6×6, mud and Scrambler models. Selected Sportsman 570 trims receive a factory-installed 3,500-pound winch, while heated seats and fender flares are available for specific models.

2026 Polaris Youth Lineup

The youth side-by-side range includes the RZR 200 EFI and RANGER 150 EFI. Both are intended for drivers age 10 and older and incorporate parent-focused technology unavailable on most full-size UTVs.

Available safety features include adjustable speed limits, geofencing, location tracking, password-protected starting, a seatbelt interlock and Helmet Aware Technology. The RZR 200 also provides dual-A-arm front suspension, 24-inch tires and 10 inches of ground clearance.

Polaris’ youth ATV lineup includes the Outlaw 70 EFI, Outlaw 110 EFI, Sportsman 110 EFI and Phoenix 200.

What Is New in the 2026 Polaris Lineup?

The RANGER 500 is the most important addition for value-focused utility buyers, but it is only part of the 2026 story. The later arrival of the redesigned RZR XP and 72-inch XP S gives naturally aspirated sport UTV buyers two substantially different chassis choices. Polaris also expanded its enclosed utility range with the RANGER 1000 CAB and XP 1000 CAB.

At the premium end, the RZR Pro R gained a larger touchscreen, while the RANGER XD 1500 Mountaineer Edition introduced lower gearing specifically intended for heavy loads, steep terrain and high-elevation use.

Other changes—including quieter tire designs, revised XPEDITION heater performance, new graphics and updated trim packages—are more evolutionary. Collectively, however, the 2026 lineup demonstrates the sheer breadth of Polaris’ product range.
