Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg brings his freestyle motocross background to the dunes in a Polaris RZR Pro R. In Polaris’ Tough Doesn’t Quit film, he talks about growing up with Tourette syndrome, the support he received from his father and the difficult return to riding after a serious crash. The video tells his personal story, while the RZR Pro R in the featured photo connects it to his off-road riding.
How dirt bikes became part of his life
Stenberg recalls being teased about Tourette syndrome in junior high and high school. His father took him dirt-bike riding almost every day, giving him an activity he loved and helping him deal with that difficult period. He also taught him to take the higher road when other people challenged him.
That background shaped Stenberg’s view of toughness. In the film, he places more weight on mental resolve than on physical pain. Riding was something he wanted to keep doing because he loved it, even during stretches when injuries made the decision difficult.
Coming back after a major injury
Stenberg identifies a crash that injured his back, tibia and fibula, and talus as his toughest recovery. Unable to ride while his friends continued, he remembers questioning his future in the sport. He says he never doubted that he wanted to return and compete at the top again.
He also recalls pressure from sponsors who wondered whether he could still win. His answer was to put in the work and prove himself in competition. That determination, and his refusal to let doubt define him, is the focus of this episode of Polaris’ Tough Doesn’t Quit series.
Jeremy Stenberg and the Polaris RZR Pro R
The RZR Pro R is a fitting machine for wide-open dune riding. Its naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 225 horsepower, and its 74-inch-wide chassis and long-travel suspension were designed for open sand and desert terrain. These are specifications of the production platform, not claims about modifications to Stenberg’s vehicle or a test conducted in this film. Our Polaris RZR Pro R model guide covers its engine, suspension, trims and development in detail.
Stenberg’s connection with the RZR community also extends to live events. He led the freestyle motocross show at Camp RZR 2024 in Glamis, where Polaris owners gathered for the start of the dune season. For the model updates from the year this film appeared, see our 2025 RZR Pro lineup coverage.
The video itself focuses on Stenberg’s motocross career and recovery. For more personal stories in the Polaris series, watch our features on Vicki Golden and the Wright family.
