Josh Row

Valcourt, Quebec, August 19, 2024 Can-Am racer Josh Row claimed the top stop in the UTV Open class and the overall win in his Can-Am Maverick R at the legendary Vegas to Reno Best In The Desert (BITD) race last Friday (*results as of 8/19/24). This marks the Maverick R’s first showing at Vegas to Reno, making it a successful debut at one of the premier desert races in North America. In addition to Row’s overall win, Can-Am racers swept the podium in the Pro Turbo class with Joe Terrana taking the win, followed by Cody Miller and Dan Fisher in second and third place respectively.

“Vegas to Reno is the perfect proving ground for the Maverick R,” said Jean-Francois Leclerc, Can-Am Racing Department Manager. “Our racers and teams are pushing UTV racing to a new level and we’re proud to provide them with a platform that facilitates their progression. This is a huge win for Can-Am as well as the new Maverick R platform.”

Josh Row took home the Overall UTV win at the iconic Vegas to Reno in his Maverick R.

Despite the hot and dusty conditions, Josh Row and Preston Axford drove an impressively consistent race in their Maverick R. Starting 16th off the line, they pushed the pace throughout the day and avoided costly mistakes with just one flat tire. Row finished the 550-mile race in 09:28:11.959, the fastest time of any UTV.

“The pace that everyone is running is pretty impressive,” said Row. “This race is really tough on the machines, especially in the heat of the day. Other than the flat tire, we had a smooth day. We were able to persevere and put it on top so I’m really excited with the result.”

In the UTV Pro Turbo class, Can-Am racer Joe Terrana crossed the line with a time of 09:29:59.047 to take top honors. His time was just a minute and a half behind the overall winner, Row, placing Terrana third overall. Cody Miller drove an impressive race in his Maverick R, finishing less than four minutes behind Terrana. Dan Fisher rounded out the Pro Turbo podium in third, completing the Can-Am and the Maverick R podium sweep.
