Talla Motorsports will debut a new purpose-built Can-Am Maverick R desert race UTV at the 2026 Vegas to Reno. Montana father-and-son racers Mark and Russell Talla will share driving duties in the #T110 as the 30th-anniversary race runs approximately 505 miles from the Reno area toward Las Vegas—the first reverse route in event history.
Starting with a Can-Am Maverick R X rc, Alsup Racing Development built the #T110 around its full chassis and complete suspension system. The result is a dedicated desert race car prepared for the speed, rough terrain and endurance demands of one of North America’s longest off-road races.
Complete In-House Build by Alsup Racing Development
The #T110 is much more than a production UTV fitted with a roll cage and a collection of bolt-on race parts. Alsup Racing Development completed the entire vehicle in-house, including the chassis fabrication, suspension, wiring and plumbing.
Handling the complete build allowed Alsup to integrate the drivetrain, suspension, cooling, electrical system, controls and safety equipment as one cohesive package. It also gave the builder control over component placement and service access—important considerations during a long-distance desert race.
The Talla Motorsports #T110 is one of two newly completed Alsup Maverick R race cars scheduled to debut during Vegas to Reno race week.

ARD Full Chassis #5 and Complete Suspension
The #T110 is the fifth Can-Am Maverick R full-chassis race car completed by Alsup Racing Development. The ARD chassis is designed to accommodate the four-seat transmission used in the Maverick R X rc while providing the structure and packaging required for a purpose-built desert race UTV.
Alsup also supplied its complete front and rear suspension kit. The exposed race-car construction provides a clear look at ARD suspension arms, trailing arms, radius rods and reinforced mounting points. FOX shocks were tuned by All-Tech Motorsports for the sustained speeds, deep whoops and repeated impacts encountered during desert racing.

Can-Am Maverick R X rc Powertrain
The build started with a Can-Am Maverick R X rc and incorporates the X rc four-seat transmission. The Maverick R platform pairs a 999cc turbocharged three-cylinder Rotax engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission rather than the belt-driven CVT used by most UTVs.
Evolution Powersports supplied an EVP 96-octane tune for the #T110. Fuel is carried in a Pyrotect fuel cell with 37 usable gallons, giving the team the capacity needed to plan longer runs between fuel stops during a full-distance desert race.
The Can-Am Maverick R platform has already demonstrated its potential in desert competition. Josh Row drove a Maverick R to the 2024 Vegas to Reno UTV overall victory, while Can-Am racers returned the platform to the Vegas to Reno podium in 2025.

Purpose-Built Open Cockpit
The #T110 uses an open two-seat cockpit with a roof and window nets. Inside, the driver and navigator are surrounded by dedicated navigation, communications and vehicle-monitoring equipment.
Multiple displays provide mapping and operating information, while PCI Race Radios equipment supports communication between the occupants and the team. Race seats, harnesses and Pyrotect safety equipment protect the occupants, while a Safecraft fire-suppression system adds another important layer of protection.

Prepared for the Reverse-Route Vegas to Reno
The 2026 Vegas to Reno will immediately subject the new car to a wide range of conditions. For the first time in the event’s 30-year history, competitors will race south from the Reno area toward Las Vegas. The approximately 505-mile course combines high-speed roads, rocky canyons, dry lake beds, silt, dust, whoops, mountain passes and long desert valleys.
The #T110 carries a spare tire behind the rear suspension. A Pyrotect fuel cell provides 37 usable gallons of capacity, while a Factory UTV skid plate protects the underside of the car. The Baja Designs light package is mounted at the front of the chassis, and the minimal bodywork keeps the suspension and major mechanical systems accessible for inspection and service.
