The 2027 Polaris UTV lineup brings important updates across the company’s sport, adventure and utility side-by-side families. The biggest news is the 275-horsepower RZR Pro R Boost, but Polaris has also substantially revised the XPEDITION and expanded the RANGER lineup with several additions that received less attention during the initial model-year announcement.
The 2027 Polaris RZR Pro R Boost becomes the most powerful production side-by-side Polaris has offered. The updated 2027 Polaris XPEDITION introduces the pneumatically controlled NUMATIX CVT system, while the 2027 Polaris RANGER lineup adds a new Mud Edition, introduces the RANGER 600 name, brings back the electric XP Kinetic and repositions the NorthStar Trail Boss as a more recreational trail machine.
While Polaris notes that the 2027 model year includes updates across its broader Off-Road lineup, the company’s media launch focused primarily on these two UTVs, making them the biggest side-by-side stories for the new model year.
2027 Polaris UTV Highlights
For 2027, Polaris concentrated on improving the ownership experience rather than introducing entirely new platforms.
- RZR Pro R Boost: A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 275 horsepower and 223 lb-ft of torque.
- XPEDITION: Polaris introduces NUMATIX pneumatic CVT control, integrated onboard air and several comfort improvements.
- RANGER XP 1000 Mud Edition: A new factory mud package combines raised air intakes, arched A-arms, 29-inch mud tires and a high-mounted winch.
- RANGER 600: The former SP 570 platform receives a new name, Gen 2 transmission, updated power steering and a new display.
- RANGER XP Kinetic: Polaris’ electric utility side-by-side returns exclusively in Ultimate trim.
- NorthStar Trail Boss: The enclosed-cab model moves toward recreational trail use with adjustable Walker Evans shocks.

2027 RZR Pro R Boost Raises the Performance Bar
The headline announcement for 2027 is the all-new Polaris RZR Pro R Boost.
Powered by a turbocharged version of Polaris’ 2.0-liter ProStar Fury four-cylinder engine, the new flagship produces 275 horsepower, making it the most powerful production side-by-side Polaris has ever built.
The additional horsepower is only part of the story.
Polaris also redesigned much of the vehicle to support the increased performance, including:
- Garrett 60 mm turbocharger
- New high-capacity clutching system
- Stronger transmission and front driveline
- Dual-radiator cooling architecture
- Larger fuel tanks
- Updated DYNAMIX suspension calibration
- Carbon-fiber components on Ultra models
- Apple CarPlay compatibility through a future software update
According to Polaris engineers, the goal was not simply to build a faster machine, but one capable of maintaining full performance in demanding conditions, including high temperatures and high elevations.
The 2027 RZR Pro R Boost starts at $49,999, with dealer availability expected beginning in November 2026.

2027 Polaris XPEDITION with NUMATIX
XPEDITION Gets a Major Refinement
Rather than adding horsepower to the XPEDITION, Polaris focused on improving the overall driving experience.
The centerpiece of the update is NUMATIX Controlled CVT, a pneumatic clutch-control system that works alongside the vehicle’s conventional mechanical CVT.
According to Polaris, NUMATIX can:
- Lower engine rpm by approximately 45% during steady cruising
- Reduce perceived cabin noise by up to 40%
- Improve acceleration to 50 mph by approximately one second
- Improve Low-range drivability
- Provide integrated onboard compressed air
Because the system already includes an onboard compressor and air reservoir, Polaris also introduced new accessories, including a 25-foot air hose and a four-gallon pressurized water tank.
The updated XPEDITION starts at $40,499, with the first units expected to begin arriving at dealerships in August 2026.

2027 Polaris RANGER Lineup Adds More Than One New Model
Polaris’ initial 2027 announcement focused primarily on the RZR Pro R Boost and updated XPEDITION, but the utility side of the lineup also contains several notable changes.
The biggest addition is the 2027 Polaris RANGER XP 1000 Mud Edition. Built on the familiar 82-horsepower XP 1000 platform, it adds front and rear arched A-arms, 29-inch Pro Armor Mud XC tires, raised engine and clutch air intakes, a mud-specific bumper and a high-mounted 4,500-pound winch.
Unlike an extreme aftermarket mud build, the new model retains VersaTrac Turf Mode, a 1,000-pound cargo-box capacity and 2,500-pound towing capacity. That gives it a broader mix of mud, trail and everyday utility capability. Three- and six-seat versions are available, starting at $23,799 and $25,999 respectively.
The wider 2027 Polaris RANGER lineup also introduces the RANGER 600 name as a replacement for the SP 570, returns the electric RANGER XP Kinetic in Ultimate trim and gives the NorthStar Trail Boss Edition adjustable Walker Evans shocks and a more recreation-focused configuration.
These additions make the RANGER changes more substantial than Polaris’ initial model-year announcement suggested.
Warranty and Ownership
For model year 2027, Polaris Off-Road vehicles, excluding Youth models, are backed by a one-year factory limited warranty.
Eligible NorthStar models, including qualifying XPEDITION NorthStar models, also receive promotional two-year limited-warranty coverage. That consists of the standard 12-month factory warranty plus an additional 12 months of promotional coverage, subject to Polaris’ eligibility requirements and program terms.
