The 2027 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS puts the company’s 83-horsepower V-twin into a 50-inch-wide chassis built for width-restricted UTV trails. While the newer turbocharged ZFORCE Z10 models sit at the top of CFMOTO’s performance range, the 950 Trail fills a very different role: delivering serious power in places where a 60- or 64-inch sport side-by-side may not be allowed.
The ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS returns for 2027 as a proven model rather than an all-new machine. Its combination of compact dimensions, selectable four-wheel drive, adjustable piggyback shocks and generous standard equipment continues to make it one of the most powerful factory 50-inch UTVs available.

83-Horsepower V-Twin
The 950 Trail uses CFMOTO’s 963cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC eight-valve V-twin with Bosch electronic fuel injection. Output is rated at 83 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 63 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. A ride-by-wire throttle provides selectable Normal and Sport modes, allowing the driver to choose a smoother response for technical terrain or a sharper feel on faster sections of trail.
Power reaches the wheels through a CVTech automatic CVT with high and low ranges. The driver can select two- or four-wheel drive, and the locking front differential adds traction for rocks, mud and steep climbs. CFMOTO also specifies variable-assist electronic power steering with dual-mode EPS that adapts with the selected power mode.
This engine is the main reason to choose the 950 over the 2027 CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 Trail EPS. Both machines fit the same 50-inch trail category, but the 950 provides substantially more power for riders who regularly face elevation, deep sand, steep grades or simply want stronger acceleration.
A True 50-Inch Trail UTV
Width is the defining specification. At exactly 50 inches, the ZFORCE 950 Trail is designed for designated routes that exclude wider side-by-sides. Its 90-inch wheelbase is compact enough for tight switchbacks and wooded trails, while front and rear sway bars help control body roll from the narrow stance.
There is an unavoidable tradeoff. A 50-inch machine will not have the wide-track stability or long-travel suspension of the 60-inch ZFORCE 950 Sport models, much less the 64-inch ZFORCE Z10. The 950 Trail’s advantage is access and maneuverability. It can go through gates and onto trails that physically or legally shut out those wider models.
Adjustable Suspension in a Narrow Chassis
Independent double-A-arm suspension provides 10 inches of travel up front and 12 inches at the rear. High-pressure gas shocks use piggyback reservoirs and three-position compression adjusters, giving the owner a simple way to change damping for different terrain or loads.
The 950 Trail rides on 26-inch CST tires mounted to 14-inch cast-aluminum wheels. Ten inches of ground clearance is adequate for a compact trail machine, although careful tire placement remains important in deep ruts and rock gardens. Four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and a dedicated parking brake handle stopping duties.
CFMOTO’s 2027 press material contains a ground-clearance discrepancy. One feature description claims 12 inches, but the detailed specification table in that release and the 2027 model brochure both list 10 inches. We have used the matching specification-table figure.
Standard Equipment Adds Value
CFMOTO includes several items that are commonly added after purchase. The 2027 ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS comes equipped with a roof, half doors, a front bumper, full-coverage HDPE skid plates and a 3,500-pound winch with synthetic rope and a wired remote. RideVision LED headlights, taillights and backup lights, 12-volt and USB power outlets, and a 5.9-inch digital instrument display are also included. Bolstered sport seats, an adjustable driver’s seat, tilt steering, grab handles and a center console round out the cockpit.
A two-inch receiver and 1,500-pound towing rating add useful versatility for moving a small trailer. The covered rear cargo area can also carry camping gear or trail tools, although the 950 Trail remains a recreation-focused machine rather than a utility UTV.
The 2027 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS has an MSRP of $14,999 plus freight and setup and a one-year factory warranty. Buyers can choose Nebula Black or Zephyr Blue. The price is particularly relevant because the roof, winch, aluminum wheels and protective equipment are already included rather than left for the buyer to add immediately after purchase.
ZFORCE 950 Trail vs. 800 Trail and 950 Sport
| Model | Width | Engine | Power | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZFORCE 800 Trail EPS | 50 in. | 800cc V-twin | 58 hp | Lower-cost 50-inch trail riding |
| ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS | 50 in. | 963cc V-twin | 83 hp | Maximum power with 50-inch access |
| ZFORCE 950 Sport | 60 in. | 963cc V-twin | 83 hp | More stability and suspension on wider trails |
The 800 Trail and 950 Trail share the same basic mission, so the decision largely comes down to price versus power. The 950 Sport uses the same 963cc engine but places it in a wider, more stable platform with more suspension travel. Riders who do not need 50-inch access should consider the Sport, while those who do will find the 950 Trail difficult to match for power.
Where the 950 Trail Fits in the 2027 ZFORCE Lineup
The expanding ZFORCE family now covers several distinct kinds of sport riding. The Z10 and Z10-4 target high-performance buyers with turbocharged power and long-travel suspension. The 950 Sport models occupy the middle-width recreational category, while the 800 Trail and 950 Trail preserve access to the tightest legal UTV routes.

Who Should Buy the 2027 ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS?
The 950 Trail makes the most sense for a rider whose local trail network enforces a 50-inch width limit but who does not want to give up big-engine performance. It is especially appealing for tight mountain and forest routes where compact dimensions matter, yet elevation changes and steep climbs reward the extra torque of the 963cc engine.
Riders with unrestricted access to wider trails may be better served by a 60- or 64-inch model with greater stability and suspension travel. But within the 50-inch category, the 2027 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Trail EPS offers an unusual combination of power, adjustable suspension and factory-installed equipment.
Always confirm local trail-width rules before riding. Posted limits and measurement requirements vary by trail system.
