2026 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FX 820 and PRO-FXT 820: Specs, Prices and Differences

2026 KAWASAKI MULE PRO-FX™ 820 EPS

The 2026 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FX 820 and MULE PRO-FXT 820 occupy the work-focused side of Kawasaki’s full-size utility UTV lineup. Both use an 812cc three-cylinder gasoline engine, offer seating for at least three people and are rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds.

The primary difference is behind the front seat. The three-passenger MULE PRO-FX 820 has Kawasaki’s largest cargo bed, while the MULE PRO-FXT 820 uses the convertible Trans Cab system to switch between three- and six-passenger configurations.

These 820 models provide an alternative to the more powerful 999cc machines in the current Kawasaki MULE lineup. They retain the full-size MULE PRO chassis and work capacity while using Kawasaki’s long-running 812cc engine.

2026 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FX 820 EPS

The MULE PRO-FX 820 EPS is the three-passenger model and the better choice when cargo space takes priority over carrying a second row of passengers. Its fixed cargo bed measures 54.1 inches long, 53.3 inches wide and 11 inches deep, providing approximately 20 square feet of bed space.

The bed is rated to carry 999 pounds in most states, making it large enough to accommodate a standard-size pallet. Kawasaki equips the bed with a gas-assisted tilt mechanism to make unloading easier. An accessory hydraulic bed lift is also available for owners who regularly haul soil, gravel, firewood or other heavy material.

The PRO-FX 820 uses the same 812cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine as the PRO-FXT 820. Kawasaki rates it at 48 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. Power is delivered through a CVT with high, low, neutral and reverse ranges.

Drivers can select two- or four-wheel drive, while the dual-mode rear differential can be locked when additional traction is needed or unlocked to reduce turf damage and make tighter turns on finished surfaces.

Double-wishbone suspension at all four corners provides 8.7 inches of front-wheel travel and approximately 8.5 to 8.7 inches at the rear. Ground clearance is 10.2 inches. The PRO-FX 820 also comes with Electric Power Steering, tilt steering and cast-aluminum wheels.

2026 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FXT 820 EPS

The MULE PRO-FXT 820 EPS adds Kawasaki’s Trans Cab system, allowing the vehicle to convert between a three-passenger utility UTV and a six-passenger crew model.

In three-passenger mode, the rear seat is folded forward to create a cargo bed measuring 42.7 inches long, 53.7 inches wide and 11 inches deep. The bed is rated to carry 999 pounds in this configuration.

Converting to six-passenger mode moves the rear wall and seat into position without requiring tools. Cargo-bed length is reduced to 22 inches, and bed capacity drops to 350 pounds, but the vehicle gains seating for three additional occupants.

This flexibility makes the PRO-FXT 820 a better fit for farms, ranches, large properties and job sites where passenger and cargo requirements can change throughout the day. Owners who rarely need more than three seats will get substantially more permanent bed space from the PRO-FX 820.

The PRO-FXT 820 shares the PRO-FX model’s 812cc engine, CVT, selectable four-wheel drive, locking rear differential, independent suspension and 2,000-pound towing capacity. Both vehicles also have a 7.9-gallon fuel tank and 10.2 inches of ground clearance.

Which MULE PRO 820 Should You Choose?

Choose the MULE PRO-FX 820 if maximum cargo-bed space is the priority. Its fixed bed is longer than the bed in the PRO-FXT, and its cast-aluminum wheels provide a slight equipment advantage over the steel wheels fitted to the 2026 PRO-FXT 820 EPS.

Choose the MULE PRO-FXT 820 if you need the ability to carry as many as six people. The Trans Cab system sacrifices some bed space, but it allows one vehicle to alternate between moving a crew and hauling a substantial load.

Despite having convertible seating, the PRO-FXT has the same 133.3-inch overall length and 92.3-inch wheelbase as the PRO-FX. This means buyers do not have to accept a longer crew-style chassis to gain the second row.

How the 820 Models Fit Into the Kawasaki MULE Lineup

The MULE PRO-FX and PRO-FXT 820 are closely related to earlier MULE PRO models powered by Kawasaki’s 812cc three-cylinder engine. For 2026, they sit below the 999cc MULE PRO-FX 1000 and PRO-FXT 1000 models in engine output and ground clearance.

The 820 models still deliver the essential full-size MULE PRO capabilities: a wide chassis, independent suspension, three-across bench seating, a one-ton towing rating and a cargo bed capable of carrying nearly 1,000 pounds. Their 75-amp alternator also provides useful electrical capacity for accessories used on farms and job sites.

Buyers who want more power, taller ground clearance and additional premium equipment should compare them with the 999cc MULE PRO 1000 family. Buyers primarily interested in dependable transportation, cargo capacity and convertible seating may find the 820 models provide everything they need at a lower starting price.

Kawasaki Genuine Accessories

Kawasaki offers more than 90 accessories for the MULE PRO platform. Available equipment includes front and rear A-arm guards, cab heaters, WARN VRX 45 and VRX 45-S winch kits, an LED headlight set, a windshield washer and wiper system, cargo boxes, an audio system, plow hardware and a powered bed-lift kit.

That selection allows the PRO-FX and PRO-FXT 820 to be configured for property maintenance, snow removal, hunting, agricultural work or year-round transportation. Buyers planning to add several electrical accessories should account for the load placed on the vehicle’s 75-amp charging system.
