2022 CFMOTO UTV Lineup: UFORCE and ZFORCE Models

2022 CFMOTO UTV lineup featuring the ZFORCE 950 H.O. EX, ZFORCE 950 H.O. Sport and UFORCE 600

CFMOTO entered the 2022 model year with one of its most complete UTV lineups to date. The company offered four work-focused UFORCE models and five recreation-oriented ZFORCE machines, covering everything from 50-inch trail access to six-passenger utility use.

The biggest addition was the all-new 2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 600, which replaced the aging UFORCE 500 with more power, improved styling and a considerably more modern interior. Performance buyers also gained two 90-horsepower ZFORCE 950 H.O. models: the 60-inch ZFORCE 950 H.O. Sport and the wider, long-travel ZFORCE 950 H.O. EX.

Every 2022 CFMOTO side-by-side came standard with electronic power steering, selectable four-wheel drive and a substantial collection of equipment that often cost extra on competing machines.

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE Utility UTVs

The 2022 CFMOTO UFORCE lineup included four machines ranging from the compact two-seat UFORCE 600 to the six-passenger UFORCE 1000 XL. CFMOTO continued to make standard equipment a major part of its value proposition, with features such as power steering, a winch, roof and side mirrors included on the UFORCE models.

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 600

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 600

The UFORCE 600 was the important new utility model for 2022. Its 580cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produced a claimed 40 horsepower and 36 lb-ft of torque, representing a meaningful step up from the previous UFORCE 500.

CFMOTO paired the engine with a CVTech continuously variable transmission offering Park, Reverse, Neutral, High and Low ranges. Selectable two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and a locking front differential helped the UFORCE 600 handle changing terrain.

The new model could carry up to 600 pounds in its tilting cargo box and tow as much as 2,000 pounds through its standard 2-inch receiver. Independent double-A-arm suspension, arched front control arms and 10.5 inches of ground clearance gave it enough capability for property work and recreational trail riding.

Standard equipment included electronic power steering, a 3,500-pound winch with wired and wireless controls, a roof, side mirrors, LED running lights and a color instrument display. Its combination of equipment, 40-horsepower engine and $9,999 price made the UFORCE 600 one of the strongest values in the 2022 midsize utility UTV market.

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 800

The CFMOTO UFORCE 800 returned for 2022 as a larger and more powerful alternative to the new UFORCE 600. Its liquid-cooled 800cc V-twin produced 62 horsepower and was connected to a CVTech automatic transmission.

At approximately 57.6 inches wide, the UFORCE 800 remained relatively compact for a V-twin utility UTV. Its 600-pound cargo-box rating and 1,250-pound towing capacity were more modest than those of the UFORCE 1000 models, but it offered considerably more power than the UFORCE 600.

The UFORCE 800 also came equipped with electronic power steering, a winch, roof, side mirrors, alloy wheels and selectable four-wheel drive. By 2022, however, the model represented CFMOTO’s older-generation utility platform and sat surprisingly close to the newer UFORCE 1000 in price.

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 1000

The UFORCE 1000 was CFMOTO’s full-size, three-passenger utility UTV. Its 963cc V-twin produced 71 horsepower, giving it more power and substantially greater work capacity than the UFORCE 800.

A three-person bench seat made the UFORCE 1000 more practical for work crews and families. Its gas-assisted dump box could carry up to 1,000 pounds, while the standard 2-inch receiver was rated to tow as much as 2,000 pounds.

Ride-by-wire throttle control provided Sport and Normal power modes. Other equipment included electronic power steering, a 4,500-pound winch, full skid plates, roof, side mirrors, LED lighting and 27-inch tires mounted on 14-inch aluminum wheels.

2022 CFMOTO UFORCE 1000 XL

The UFORCE 1000 XL expanded the full-size platform with two bench seats and room for up to six occupants. It used the same 71-horsepower, 963cc V-twin as the three-seat UFORCE 1000 but rode on a longer chassis to accommodate the second row.

Despite its added passenger capacity, the UFORCE 1000 XL retained a 1,000-pound cargo-box rating and 2,000-pound towing capacity. That made it suitable for work crews, hunting parties and families that needed passenger space without giving up the utility of a full-size dump box.

The XL also included a roof, electronic power steering, 4,500-pound winch, mirrors, LED lighting and aluminum wheels as standard equipment. With an original starting price of $14,499, it gave CFMOTO a relatively affordable competitor in the growing six-passenger utility UTV segment.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE Sport UTVs

The 2022 ZFORCE family included two 50-inch trail machines, the wider ZFORCE 800 EX and two 90-horsepower ZFORCE 950 H.O. models. Unlike the later ZFORCE Z10 platform, all five of these machines used naturally aspirated single-cylinder or V-twin engines.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 500 Trail

At 50 inches wide, the ZFORCE 500 Trail was designed for restricted-width trails that excluded larger sport side-by-sides. It used a 495cc single-cylinder engine producing approximately 38 horsepower.

The compact ZFORCE came standard with electronic power steering, selectable four-wheel drive, a locking front differential, a roof, side mirrors and a 3,000-pound winch. Double-A-arm suspension and its narrow stance made it more suitable for slower technical trails than high-speed open terrain.

With a $9,499 starting MSRP, the ZFORCE 500 Trail was the least expensive side-by-side in CFMOTO’s 2022 U.S. lineup.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 Trail

The ZFORCE 800 Trail combined the same trail-legal 50-inch width with an 800cc V-twin producing 62 horsepower and 53 lb-ft of torque. It offered significantly stronger performance than the 500 Trail without requiring buyers to move into a wider chassis.

Standard equipment included power steering, a roof, side mirrors, aluminum wheels and a winch. Its narrow width was the main attraction for riders using designated 50-inch trail systems, although the compact track width naturally made it less stable than CFMOTO’s wider ZFORCE models during aggressive cornering.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 EX

The ZFORCE 800 EX used the same 62-horsepower 800cc V-twin as the 800 Trail but placed it in a wider 59.4-inch chassis. The additional width improved stability and gave the EX more room to work with its fully adjustable suspension.

CFMOTO equipped the ZFORCE 800 EX with electronic power steering, a locking front differential, roof, mirrors, winch and aluminum wheels. The machine provided a middle ground between the narrow Trail models and the more powerful ZFORCE 950 H.O. series.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 H.O. Sport

The ZFORCE 950 H.O. Sport brought CFMOTO’s 90-horsepower engine to a 60-inch-wide recreation platform. Its fuel-injected 963cc V-twin produced a claimed 90 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque.

The H.O. designation separated this model from the earlier 79-horsepower ZFORCE 950 Sport. In addition to the increased output, the 2022 H.O. Sport used ride-by-wire throttle control with two selectable power modes.

A QuadLink trailing-arm rear suspension distinguished the newer 950 platform from CFMOTO’s older double-A-arm ZFORCE designs. The H.O. Sport also included fully adjustable gas shocks, electronic power steering, a roof, full doors, side mirrors, LED lighting, aluminum beadlock wheels and a 3,500-pound winch.

At 60 inches wide, the H.O. Sport was the more trail-oriented of CFMOTO’s two 90-horsepower models.

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 H.O. EX

2022 CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 H.O. EX

The ZFORCE 950 H.O. EX sat at the top of the 2022 CFMOTO sport lineup. It shared the H.O. Sport’s 90-horsepower, 963cc V-twin but used a wider 64-inch chassis and longer-travel suspension.

The EX offered approximately 11 inches of front suspension travel and 11.8 inches at the rear. Piggyback gas shocks provided adjustable compression and rebound damping along with threaded spring preload adjustment.

Its 64-inch stance made the H.O. EX better suited to faster and more open terrain, while the 60-inch H.O. Sport remained the more practical choice for narrower trails. Both models included a roof, full doors, winch, mirrors, LED lighting and beadlock wheels.

What Was New for CFMOTO in 2022?

The UFORCE 600 was CFMOTO’s most significant all-new utility introduction for 2022. It brought a newer 580cc engine, updated bodywork, a color display and stronger towing capacity to the entry portion of the UFORCE range.

The ZFORCE 950 H.O. Sport and H.O. EX were the performance highlights. Their 90-horsepower engine, electronic throttle and trailing-arm rear suspension represented CFMOTO’s strongest effort yet to move beyond the budget end of the recreational UTV market.

Even with those updates, value remained the defining theme. CFMOTO included roofs, winches, power steering, mirrors and aluminum wheels on models priced below many competing UTVs that required buyers to add those components separately.

Which 2022 CFMOTO UTV Was the Best Choice?

The answer depended heavily on where and how the machine would be used:
